From September to December experience the true heart of Sardinia in a series of autumn festivals, known as “Autunno in Barbagia”. 27 villages take part offering typical products and hospitality. These festivals are among thebest kept secrets of Sardinia.

It's a unique opportunity to discover the age old traditions of inland Sardinia. Take treks through the mountainous regions, eat suckling pig roasted over open embers, enjoy traditional cuisine in the country kitchens of the locals who throw open the doors to the visitors who flock to these events. Visit the local craftsmen's workshops, and drink a little local wine! Learn about traditional farming and cultivation methods.

All this is set in the magical area of Barbagia noted for its wildlife, mountains and savage nature. Autumn in Barbagia showcases a wealth of tradition and nature that in many areas of the island has vanished forever
