San Benedetto Market Cagliari
Built in the late 50′s the market of San Benedetto is “the market” for the people of Cagliari. Opened on June 1, 1957 Il mercato di San Benedetto is a building on two levels of about 4000 square meters each offering a spectacular array of products.
On the ground floor you will find the huge fish market offering everything from octopus and Lobster to baby crabs and oysters. The Market of San Benedetto is the largest covered market in Italy and one of the largest in Europe. The market is a fabulous ‘free’ attraction, spend hours wandering around grazing at the incredible colours and smells of the produce and watch as the locals barter for the best prices

Santa Chiara Market
On a much smaller scale the Santa Chiara market is the oldest market in Cagliari located in the historical center of the city immediately behind Piazza Yenne.The residents of the Castello and Stampace quarters consider this town market their own local one.
