Closeby is Chia beach, with its lagoon separated from the sea by a thin strip of sand, the Island of San Pietro, with the lovely town, Carloforte, which has preserved ancient traditions and customs from Liguria, Baia Zafferanu, with its rolling sand dunes and mysterious network of caves, not to be missed; Cala Cipolla, harsh and savage; Tuaredda, where the sea really does have tinges of the tropics; Capo Spartivento, with its pillars of rock and medieval watch towers, ideal for wind surf buffs. |
